Meet The 27 Years Old Kenyan Millionaire | KENYAN JOBS ...

Eric Kinoti? is not just an ordinary young Kenyan Citizen. At an age when many young people are out of college and asking ??serikali??to help them get jobs, the 27-year-old entrepreneurial minded gentleman is managing his own international firm and offers job opportunities to 30 other young people.

His enterprise, Shades Systems East African Limited began in 2009, though he attributes knowledge of his business brain back in 2004 when he was working as a cashier at Malindi Management Strategy at the coast. He began his ventures there by registering the first business called Cowabunga Investment Enterprises, which supplied eggs to tourist hotels. Over the weekends the budding entrepreneur would travel to Limuru and Wangige markets sourcing for goods and would make a cool Sh35,000 a week.

Beaten by the venoms of Post Election Violence in 2007, Eric left Malindi on a voyage back to Nairobi thinking that his world was over. But being the hawk eyed entrepreneur, he did a quick research and realised the potential for a huge milk market in the city. The Diploma in Business Management holder grabbed the opportunity.

He doubled his venture with a sales representative job which was offered to him by Standard Chartered Bank. Eric would wake up at four in the morning, drive to Wangige, buy milk from farmers, and by 7am, all his customers would be enjoying the delivery while?

he would have pocketed Ksh2,000.

When every Tom, Dick and Harry joined the milk delivery business, Eric saw an opportunity in schools and registered Shades, which sold school supplies, including computers. He scouted for opportunities in schools which bore positive fruits. He would buy materials on credit and only clear payments once he got his dues from the schools.

Then the giant opportunity came knocking on his rolling business world when one day a a client asked him to get secure for them a tent. Upon getting the product for the client, Eric was surprised at the profit margin for the same, Ksh 50,000. Without hesitating, he plunged himself into the tent business. Selling and installing the same followed later. Eric has just finalised his plans for the 13th Homes Expo, which kicks off on 31st August at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.

His first injection into the business, office space and goodwill was Ksh 60,000. This also included a table, and a computer. Optimistically, he engaged his first five employees, promising them a salary of Sh10,000 each even though he was not certain of the source of their salary. By the end of the month, he managed to pay everybody, including the landlord.

The business grew and by last year, it had a turnover of Sh12 million as well as a production unit with ultra-modern machines.

Eric Kinoti?s tent business is the market leader in installation and supply of car parking shades, branded tents for companies and weddings and tents for general use.

The firm has expanded into the East and Central African market. Clients span from as far as Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rwanda. This he attributes to aggressive and proactive marketing strategies the firm has employed to get her clients.?

We can only wish Eric Kinoti a great entrepreneurial journey.
